Speaking in front of groups in-person or virtually can be scary. Let me make it easier for you. I offer two levels of coaching: in a group, or one to one. In both experiences I bring my speech and voice training from the Yale School of Drama, and my years of teaching acting and improvisation to your journey as a speaker.
Two Experiences
Class: Stage Presence $20/session
Join me and 4 - 8 new friends in a fun and supportive six-week class in which we all play games and do exercises together. Then, each student is assigned a topic to give a 5 - 10 minute presentation on (yes, you can create your own topic.) At the last class we invite a small audience of friends and family to hear each presentation. Topics covered:
Technique - enunciation, projection, breath support, calming and focusing exercises.
Storytelling - strong opening, three-act narrative structure, strong closing.
Technology - we will spend a class examining the specific challenges of presenting over Zoom, as well as working microphones, and using slides
Personalization - linking what you are saying to your own lived and observed experiences.
Coaching: Empower Your Presence Hourly fee / sliding scale / $50-$150/hr.
My private coaching covers all the topics in my class, but focuses on your specific needs. Are you a leader who addresses groups, a salesperson who gives presentations, an athlete who wants to speak professionally? My technique meets you where you are and customizes support for your particular event. Using an outline or notecards I develop with you I I ensure that what you say is spontaneous - leading to engaging authenticity and the ability to adjust to different audiences. We will rehearse thoroughly so you feel confident working from a series of your ideas. I don’t change you. I enhance your assets, and diminish your challenges. Our work can take place in person and online over Zoom. However, support for live presentations should ultimately include in-person coaching.
